Discerning a New Prioress

Back in March, we began the process of discernment election of a new prioress. To assist us with the process, we invited a facilitator from a different community.

The first step in the process is writing direction statements that help us see where we believe the community is headed in the coming years. To be more open to the Spirit, we will start praying for each sister by name in May.

In June, we begin confirming the direction statements and them we start the process of choosing a prioress. Prioress may be proposed for any sister who has been continuously professed for five years or longer.  During the process, we spend a lot of time in prayer and listen to the Holy Spirit. At the end of it all, we will have a prioress.
