When did you become enamored with the love of Jesus?
As I was listening to a speaker, she stated that all we need to evangelize is to encounter the love of Jesus and I started thinking about my first time encountering Jesus’ love. I grew up Catholic, was expected to go to church on Holy Days and Sundays, and I attended religious education classes. I believed that my faith was very rote and was because I had to. It wasn’t until high school, while attending a retreat, that I really started my relationship with Jesus. After this retreat, I felt it was okay to share my faith. Going to the Appalachian Mountains on a mission trip in college was another time that I felt I was more in touch with my faith.
Today, I spend time with the Blessed Sacrament and in prayer in my room to strengthen my faith. These two experiences were fantastic and helped me to grow. I now realize that it doesn’t have to be something special to have my relationship with Jesus grow. Jesus just wants me to spend time with Him. I don’t want you to think that you should not have these experiences, but I also believe that taking time out of your ordinary life to talk to Jesus is important. Jesus’ love is always with you, so how do you tap into it?
