My Relationship with God

Benedictine Monastic Life provides time for me to have a continued relationship with God. At the monastery, we have scheduled Community Prayer three times daily in the chapel. I am also encouraged to set time for daily Spiritual Reading and private prayer, and to take a week each year for retreat.

I am supported and encouraged to grow spiritually and to deepen my relationship with God in this way of life. I realize having this kind of relationship with God on a regular schedule is a great gift. My co-workers in school and parish often expressed a desire to have time for personal growth and spiritual nourishment but are unable to take this kind of time for it because of family life and work.
