Wisdom Figures

One of the greatest and best things about living in community as a Sister of St. Benedict is the wisdom figures that we have the opportunity to be with. These sisters have lived the life for many years and are willing to share their wisdom. They’ve had ministries, friends, family, and many more experiences. 

The Rule of St. Benedict has blessed them and filled their lives. They have lived out the vows of stability, obedience, and fidelity to the monastic way of life for years. These vows are what keep them going and their continued yes each day. 

When I am having a difficult time or when I am ready to just give up, I think of these women and what they have.  I also take the time to go and visit them. Their wisdom comes from their lives, examples, and words. Just seeing them in the hallway is uplifting for me.
