Who is Sr. Jill Marie?
I wanted to share a little bit about me. I’m the vocation director for the community. This means that I walk with women who are discerning their call to religious life. I’ve been in this ministry since 2019. I also share who we are as Ferdinand Benedictines with all different groups and spaces.
I entered the community in 2003, made my temporary profession in 2006, and perpetual profession in 2011. I grew up in Celestine, Indiana. I attended public school until college, when I graduated from St. Mary-of-the-Woods College. I have a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in elementary education.
I was an elementary school teacher until 2019. I taught 4th grade, 1st grade, and 2nd grade, and I was a learning specialist for a few years. I taught at St. Bernard Catholic School in Rockport, and St. Patrick Catholic School and Sacred Heart Model School in Louisville, Kentucky.
Next week, I’ll share how and why I decided to become a Ferdinand Benedictine.
