Sister Kathleen’s Temporary Profession

At the beginning of November, Sister Kathleen Noelle made her temporary profession during evening prayer. Her family attended the ceremony as she professed vows of obedience, stability, and fidelity to the monastic way of life — the third step in becoming a Sister of St. Benedict.

After writing out her vows by hand and signing them on the altar, Sister Kathleen received the medal signifying her as a Ferdinand Benedictine. Sister Kathleen also decided to wear the veil, a beautiful symbol of her joy and commitment in taking this next step toward full membership.

Notably, the sister making vows does not carry her vow paper out of the church; instead, Prioress Sister Anita Louise does, demonstrating how the sister’s life is no longer her own, but dedicated to the community.

This poignant ceremony marked a significant milestone in Sister Kathleen’s spiritual journey and devotion to the Benedictine order.
