Behind the Mission: The Team Helping Advance the Work of the Sisters

Sometimes you can tell when a team is doing meaningful work—not just by what they accomplish, but by the joy they share along the way.

While walking past one of the meeting rooms at Monastery Immaculate Conception, the sound of laughter and conversation caught my attention. Curious about the gathering, I stepped inside and discovered the Mission Advancement team celebrating the close of another fiscal year.

The meeting was an opportunity to reflect on their work, share gratitude, and enjoy time together as a team. Because some members of the Mission Advancement staff work remotely, technology such as Zoom helps ensure everyone can remain connected and included, no matter where they are located.

The Mission Advancement team plays an important role in supporting the mission of the Sisters of St. Benedict. Through their work, they invite others into a deeper relationship with the Sisters, share the story of Benedictine life, and help people discover the joy of giving.

Team members bring not only professional skills but also a genuine love for the Sisters and the people who support their ministry. They understand that generosity is about more than financial gifts—it is about connection, gratitude, and being part of a mission that touches lives.

Those who give to the Sisters often discover that the blessings they receive through this relationship are far greater than the gifts they provide. Through prayer, friendship, and support, donors become an important part of continuing the Sisters’ mission of service and faith.
