A Visit from the Peru Sisters
This past month, we were overjoyed to host our Sisters from Monasterio Paz de la Cruz, our dependent monastery in Morropón, Piura, Peru, which we established there in 1983.
We were delighted to host Sisters María Jesús Lopez Berrú (who made her final profession last year), Magna Lucia Castillo Castillo, Marilú Cordova Campoverde, María Montalbán Chávez, Nolberta “Nolbi” Ramírez Jiménez, and Felícita “Felí” Rentería Navarro with us.
Part of the purpose for their visit was the appointment by our prioress, Sister Anita Louise Lowe, of a new superior for the monastery in Peru. After much prayer and discernment, Sister “Felí” Rentería Navarro was chosen to serve as superior for the next four years.
During their stay with us, the Sisters got a true taste of Midwest winter during the recent snowstorm and the frigid temperatures that followed. But as you can see, they managed to smile in the snow!
