Mother Julia Goebel

Prioress from 1961-1973

Mother Julia served 12 years as prioress of the Monastery. She was a builder of souls and of buildings. During her time prioress, she contributed to the establishment and development of the Benedictine foundation in California. Madonna Hall, Benet Hall, and Kordes Hall were all built during her term. After her term, she was Director of Development at the Academy. She served as a chauffeur, did needlework, and ministry to the infirm.
