Connections
As Benedictines, it is essential that we know one another in our community. Our living situation allows us to know each other deeply — I could probably share a few details about each sister here. Living together in a community — where there are numerous spaces and areas to meet and have conversations — enables us to openly share our joys, hopes, and struggles. Cultivating a few close friendships within the community is crucial, as we will be together for the rest of our lives. Without these cherished connections, our way of life could become isolating. While we may not share the same level of closeness with all our sisters, the ability to confide in and support a core group helps ensure our monastic life is fulfilling rather than lonely.
