Conclusion of the Perpetual Profession Ceremony
After the sister signs her vows, she sings the Suscipe three times, with the entire community answering. We end this with a doxology. The sister extends her hands to the Altar, raising them higher with each singing of the Suscipe.
The professed sister then receives a ring that she wears on the same finger as a married woman. This is a symbol of her commitment to this way of life and community.
We continue with the rest of Mass. The prioress then carries out the vow document out of church to symbolize that the sister is now a full member of the community. Afterwards, a reception is held with all the family and friends that attended the ceremony.
