Catholic Sisters Week
From March 8-14, the Sisters of St. Benedict in Ferdinand will join with communities of women religious around the world in celebrating Catholic Sisters Week. Each year, this event shines a light on the spirituality, mission, and community building of women religious.

Since the founding of Monastery Immaculate Conception in 1867, 1,080 Sisters of St. Benedict have passed through these monastery doors and out into the world, ministering to students, the sick, the homeless, the hungry, the impoverished, the imprisoned, the children with special needs and their parents, legal immigrants and many more — touching tens of thousands of lives over the course of more than 155 years.

If one of those lives is yours — if you or your family has been impacted in some way by the care and compassion of the Sisters, or if you understand how much richer the community is because of their presence and ministry — we invite you to use Catholic Sisters Week as an opportunity to thank them. Here are some ideas.
- Write a note or a letter. The Sisters love hearing from you. Share a memory or a moment that made a difference for you or someone you love. Encourage them in their daily work and let them know their effort and energy is appreciated.
- Post on social media about the impact a Sister has had on your own life or the life of someone special to you. Be sure to tag the Sisters @ferdinandosb.
- Make a gift in honor of or in memory of a Sister who has made life better for you or those around you. You choose how much and which Sister to honor or remember.
Whatever you choose to do, know that your words of encouragement and love lift the Sisters up and give them renewed energy to continue their good works. And your gift, regardless of size, supports the continued ministry of the Sisters as they work to change the world for the better, one life at a time.
