Monastery Baked Goods’ latest cookie juried in to Indiana Artisan

Monastery Baked Goods received word that the most recent item added to its line of products, Rosemary Butter Shortbread Cookies, has been juried in to Indiana Artisan and may now carry the Indiana Artisan brand. The Indiana Artisan food jury panel labeled the cookies as “exceptional.”

Indiana Artisan supports entrepreneurs who create high-quality art, crafts and value-added foods in the Hoosier state. The comprehensive program was launched in 2008 to raise awareness about the availability of locally-crafted products, establish a brand for Indiana-made goods, provide artisans, particularly those in rural areas, with access to entrepreneurial support including training and networking opportunities, to support artisan trail and retail development, and encourage visitation to Indiana.

Rosemary Butter Shortbread Cookies were created in response to requests from customers for a savory cookie. The flavors of monastery-grown rosemary and turbinado sugar combine to deliver a flavorful, slightly sweet cookie.

Rosemary Butter Shortbread is now among seven cookie varieties made by Monastery Baked Goods that has been juried in to Indiana Artisan. Others include: Springerle, Almerle, Buttermint, Buttermint with Chocolate, Gingersnap, Hildegard, and Simply Lemon. All baked goods are made and packaged in the bakery located on the grounds of Monastery Immaculate Conception.
