Celebrating Planet Earth

During the month of April, Laudato Si Circle is partnering with the Ferdinand Branch of the Jasper-Dubois County Public Library for month’s worth of activities to celebrate the Earth Month!

Cosmic Walk at the Monastery
Thursday, April 10 at 6:00 p.m.
The public is invited to gather at the Madonna Lake Shelter on the Monastery Grounds, learn a bit about the Story of Creation. Registration is required online at ww.jdcpl.us

Microgreens Presentation at the Library
Monday, April 14 at 6:00 p.m.
Ken Eck, Purdue Extension Dubois County, will be sharing information about microgreens — how to grow them and the benefits of eating them. He’ll also answer any questions you may have. Registration is required online at ww.jdcpl.us

The Man Who Planted Trees & The Lorax Films

Come to the Library and watch films starring trees during normal Ferdinand Library hours.

‘Solar Panel’ Roundtable of Experts at the Library
Thursday, April 24 at 6:00 p.m.
Learn about and discuss the benefits of using solar power.

Tree Planting Demo, Electric Vehicle on Site & Beekeeper Presentation at the Library
Saturday, April 26 at 10:00 a.m.
Learn to plant and care for newly planted trees from a local forester. Introduce yourself to an electric vehicle from Uebelhor and Sons. Learn from a local beekeeper on how they care for bees and what a blessing they are to farmers.
